I Talk To The Universe About You

When chaos takes over my tiny world,

When there is a lot to fathom & no one to listen

When fate baffles me and there is nothing to do,

Then I talk to the universe about you.

When I am sitting idle near the window of my room.

& the glass pane reflects my desperation & gloom.

When jotting it all down doesn’t help anymore,

Then I talk to the universe about you.

Sometimes, it rains, even when it’s not supposed to,

Sometimes the conversations end but the talk doesn’t.

Sometimes, darkness plays its tricks of despair on me

Then I talk to the universe about you.

When the radio plays a familiar song,

& every word I write seems to be wrong,

When even the tea fails to calm the storm,

Then I talk to the universe about you.

lireshelf, poem, poetry

When the whiffs of remembrance disrupt the still.

& memories of togetherness start trickling,

like the rain that seeps from closed windows.

Then I talk to the universe about you.

When I discover a part of you in every bit of me,

When I desperately try to make you eternal in my poetry,

When your thoughts comfort me more than anything,

Then I talk to the universe about you.

The unease that fills my pockets,

The shadows that obscure the light at the end of tunnel,

But your glance, and everything becomes alright.

That’s why, I talk to the universe about you.

Years later, when these days will be long gone,

Old and grey, torn and tattered all along.

You will still be the reason behind my laughs,

And I’d still be talking to the universe about you.
