Just Like That
Locked in her tower, Rapunzel is waiting
for the face she has dreamt forever,
far among the clouds, sky lanterns are floating,
as she is smiling at the unknown intruder
“This can’t be true”, she keeps telling herself,
Why his soul seems to be familiar?
From behind closed doors, he is smiling at her,
A stranger whom she has known forever.
A mystery, she is trying to put together,
It is beyond the edge of all that is known,
Across all chasms and craters,
He has appeared on her horizon.
The reply of all her unanswered questions,
Solution of the riddle that is unsolved from eons,
Like a fairytale she had once read
He came to fulfil the wishes she made upon dandelions.
She looks at him and found her home,
The world of birds and butterflies, where she belongs.
After waiting for eternity, she finally heard his footsteps
& she marched ahead, for now on, she will never be alone.
The silence between her heartbeats
Is now filled with the image she had forgotten,
On a paper, she started sketching her favorite face,
And just like that, a poem was written.
